Cover shows
Jesus Christ as depicted by
Saint Sister Faustina – a
Catholic Nun whose vision of
Christ was given to her by
JESUS himself.
The book brings together
devotional poems inspired by
Thomas à Kempis and a cover
picture of Christ as seen by
Sister Faustina in 1931 with
the following promise of Our
Lord: “I promise that the
soul that will venerate this
picture will not perish. I
further promise to that soul
victory over its enemies."
Book Description
The context of this book is
a transposition in poetic
verse of the well-known book
The Imitation Of Christ
by Thomas à Kempis. Its
publication goes back as far
as the fifteenth century.
Each chapter and verse is
now written in the rhythm of
poetry and in ordinary words
as you know them, but in
another sense they are
extraordinary words as they
come from the soul within.
They are there for the
modern age of mankind
written in layman terms,
easy to understand, easy to
retain in one’s memory banks
by virtue of their absolute
simplicity and poetic form.
Cover shows Jesus Christ as
depicted by Saint Sister
Faustina, a Catholic Nun
whose vision of Christ was
given to her by JESUS
himself.
About the cover picture:
THE LORD’S PROMISE
“I promise that the soul
that will venerate this
picture will not perish. I
further promise to that soul
victory over its enemies
already here on earth and
especially in the hour at
death. I myself shall defend
that soul as My own glory…”
I SHALL PRESERVE THE CITIES
AND HOMES IN WHICH
THIS PICTURE SHALL BE FOUND.
