Langridge met Richard, the love of her life when she was in her teens; but
her happiness was thwarted for many years by Dave, the first man she
married and with whom she lived in Stoke-on-Trent. At length she was
reunited with Richard, only to lose him when he died prematurely. But, as
she explains in her book, the bond was never broken.
