Description
Congo Cobalt is a classic
adventure story, packed with
authentic detail, set in
1994, which will appeal to
and be appreciated by all
devotees of Wilbur Smith and
Bernard Cornwell, about a
group of former British Army
comrades who decide to come
out of retirement to wrest
profit from the mineral
riches of Central Africa,
fighting off hostile
cannibal tribes, terrorist
gangsters and modern day
pirates before winning
through with a handsome
financial gain, and other
jewels beyond price. During
their adventure, they have
the moral satisfaction of
helping an attractive French
United Nations doctor and
her team of nurses to bring
much needed medical aid and
education to primitive and
suffering tribes people.
OVERVIEW AND WARNING!
Although primarily a
powerful, exciting, and
dramatic military action
adventure story, this
novel has several tender and
sensitively romantic
elements running through it.
It will therefore readily
appeal to readers of both
sexes, although is not
suitable for young or
nervous readers. Africa and
its peoples can be cruel and
savage, and the book
reflects some aspects of
this nature.
After
attending and graduating
from the Royal Military
Academy, Sandhurst, Colin
Boxall
-Hunt
was Commissioned into the
Royal Regiment of Artillery
in 1963, and completed a
full career as a Regular
Army Officer until 1989,
serving in the British Army
of the Rhine, Oman, where he
saw active service against
the Communist insurgents,
and Rhodesia/Zimbabwe. He
was a keen offshore
yachtsman, and a highly
experienced and qualified
underwater diver, being
appointed a Joint Service
Subaqua Diving Supervisor.
In 1974, he was awarded HM
the Sultan of Oman’s
Commendation for the action
described in “Warty’s
oilrig”.
