Nick Berry’s tongue-in-cheek
divine comedy is certainly more
readable and enjoyable than The
Satanic Verses! The ancient
Greeks would have approved the
apocalyptical themes and
theatrical settings. The novel
is a roller-coaster ride through
heaven and hell—a refreshing
change from the Dawkins
Delusion, and provokes some
interesting questions into the
reality of divine existence.
Some might even conclude that we
are not just waiting in vain for
Godot as we gallop through our
world’s catastrophic financial
crisis in the twenty-first
century.
Bankers and economists say the
crisis is due to debt,
mortgaging, hedge funds and so
on. The whole system’s let us
down. There are greed and
selfishness too. But what if
there was something more?
Players behind that…
This story is entirely
fictional. Of course, it is.
Isn’t it? It’s a bit of fun too.
Well, yes…
One day the boss of everything
wakes, fed up and jaded. With
good reason.
At a regular review with the top
execs of the Heavenly Host, it
is decided to look into the mess
on Earth. The foundations of the
place up there and the one below
are shaken. The unthinkable is
at hand. Find out what really
might have started the worst
chaos since the Second World
War.
